Exhibition 'Made in Nizhny Tagil'
About exhibition
The exhibition is dedicated to the final decades of the Soviet era. The display transports visitors to a time when scarce goods were hard to obtain — you had to stand in long queues or overpay at markets commonly known as 'barakholki' (flea markets). Shortages affected almost every kind of product: clothing, perfumes, accessories, furniture, bicycles, household appliances, and much more. But in 1986, when the City Council of Nizhny Tagil approved a comprehensive program for the production of consumer goods, the situation began to improve. Most enterprises in Nizhny Tagil organized facilities to produce the goods the city's residents so desperately needed. The exhibition features over 200 items manufactured in the 1970s–1990s at Nizhny Tagil's factories and workshops. Among them are children's toys, prams, sewing and knitwear items, tableware, shoes, and household appliances of the Soviet era. For more information call: +7 (9090) 17-16-63.
