Exhibition 'Samovar: The Culture of Tea Drinking'
About exhibition
The Samovar Museum is the first and only themed museum in Nizhny Novgorod dedicated to the culture of tea drinking, starting from the Tsarist era. The exhibition space brings together hundreds of historical items from the 18th–20th centuries, including all kinds of samovars, teapots, antique carved furniture and various tea accessories. A unique feature of the exhibition is the meticulously recreated historical settings, in which visitors can be transported to past centuries, visit old tea taverns and immerse themselves in the historic atmosphere of tea ceremonies. The museum's collection includes the legendary imperial samovars from the Batashev factory and giant samovars. The largest of these is the "Buffet" samovar, which is nearly one meter tall! The museum is open daily, with no days off or holidays, on the grounds of the "Limpopo" zoo.
