Exhibition 'The Russian Samovar'
About exhibition
Tea drinking around the samovar is one of the most vivid features of traditional Russian everyday life. The samovar was not just an ordinary household object; it indicated a family's prosperity, comfort, and well-being. It was included in dowries, passed down as an heirloom, and given as gifts. Carefully polished, the samovar took pride of place in the most prominent and honored spot in the room. Visitors to the exhibition will see traditional Russian coal-fired samovars from the early 20th century and Soviet electric samovars. Among them are examples in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, made by well-known factories and plants in Russia.
