In this exhibition you seem to step into an enchanting world of the past: there is a Russian stove with cast-iron pots and stove hooks (ukhvat), a table with a samovar, and enormous chests. You will also see spinning wheels, irons, pots and jugs, birch-bark containers and small barrels… You name it! You will also learn about the folk crafts and trades that traditionally developed in the Alexandrovsky district (basketry, pottery, spinning and weaving, hunting and fishing). The museum's rich ethnographic collection, assembled by many generations of local historians, allows visitors to become closely acquainted with the typical interior of a Russian izba of the late 19th–early 20th century and to learn about their ancestors' occupations.
