Exhibition "Wooden Rus'"
About exhibition
The exhibition features around 40 mesmerizing landscapes of the Russian North from the author's travels across northwestern Russia between 2007 and 2017. The images depict the natural wealth and vast expanses of Russia — Arkhangelsk, Vologda and Leningrad regions, as well as Karelia and Svalbard. Each work reveals the philosophical depth of the beauty of the northern landscape, which, despite a harsh climate, is rich in vivid colors. The author's photographs show not only the magnificent northern nature, with its abundance of rivers and lakes, but also numerous historical monuments of wooden architecture and the church buildings of the Russian North. The exhibition's author, Nikolai Malykh, is a mountaineer, photographer and traveler, a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia (IFA), and an honorary member of the Oryol Photographic Society.
