About exhibition
The exhibition "Rubtsovsk During the Great Patriotic War" consists of 11 sections devoted to the key events of that period and the contribution of local residents to the victory. Among them are the defense of Moscow and the breaking of the Siege of Leningrad, the Battle of Stalingrad, and the crossing of the Dnieper. The exhibits tell of the combat paths of the 21st Guards Rifle Regiment, the 154th Howitzer Regiment, and the 42nd Rifle Brigade, and of the feats of Heroes of the Soviet Union I. S. Fedorenko, V. S. Rublevsky, G. S. Dobrodomov, the full bearer of the Orders of Glory I. M. Golobokov, and others. The collection includes documents, awards, military uniforms, postal cards, German trophy items, artillery shells, shell casings, barbed wire, an RBM-1 radio station, grenades, helmets, sapper shovels, and a machine-gun mock-up. They also provide insight into life in wartime Rubtsovsk, including the construction of the Altayselmash and Altai Tractor plants.
