Exhibition «Revolution and the Border: 1905–1907»
About exhibition
The exhibition tells the story of Lenin's life and activities during 1905–1907, which took place against the backdrop of four towns: Saint Petersburg, Terijoki, Kuokkala and Sestroretsk. Visitors will be able to see authentic furniture from the Vaza dacha, once occupied by Lenin and now lost, on display for the first time in 30 years; original photographs and correspondence of veterans of the revolutionary movement, as well as their memoirs. In addition, the exhibition intends to raise the issue of 'Leninist local history', which in the Soviet Union displaced classical local history from the official field. This will be shown through a 'local historian's study', in which papers and materials of the prominent St. Petersburg local historian Grigory Samoylovich Usyskin will be exhibited. The revolutionary events, presented as corner-zones, will unfold as if around the researcher's desk.
