Exhibition 'Relics of the Don Cossacks'
About exhibition
Visitors are presented with the most striking, rare exhibits dedicated to pages of the history of the Don Cossacks, reflecting the combat feats of the Don fighters. Among the exhibits are examples of weaponry from the 17th–19th centuries: bardiches, pikes, pistols, flintlock guns with silver fittings, sabers and shashkas, as well as weapons of the enemy — those of Turkish, Polish and French warriors. Of particular interest are antique Cossack banners from the Russo-Turkish War period and the awarded items presented by ruling sovereigns to the brave Don Cossacks. Russians preserve the memory of the glorious ataman M. I. Platov and the valiant heroes V. V. Orlov-Denisov and Y. P. Baklanov, whose portraits visitors can see.
