Exhibition 'Pskov as Part of the Russian State in the 16th–17th Centuries'
About exhibition
The exhibition will highlight many aspects of the daily life of Pskov residents in the 16th–17th centuries. It will present elements of Pskov's distinctiveness and uniqueness as well as features common to Russia as a whole. This presentation will clearly demonstrate the city's frontier significance as an important cultural, economic, and administrative center of Russia in the 16th–17th centuries, and will also tell museum visitors about the everyday life of Pskov's streltsy, servicemen, and clergy. The exhibition will introduce the domestic and economic activities of Pskov residents in the 16th–17th centuries. Around the perimeter of the hall there will be mini-compositions reconstructing the urban environment (a model of an estate, a fragment of paving, craft complexes) and objects illustrating the agricultural activities of the Pskov region, local trades, and crafts.
