Exhibition 'Proletarian, Mount Up!'
About exhibition
The exhibition is dedicated to the 1st Cavalry Army. The 'Konarmiya', as contemporaries called it, grew from a small detachment into a major cavalry formation of the Red Army, numbering 9,000 sabers. Visitors will see weapons from World War I and the Civil War: a 3-line (7.62 mm) rifle, Model 1891; a Nagant revolver (7.62 mm), Model 1895; a soldier's dragoon shashka, Model 1881; a Cossack shashka, Model 1881; and personal weapons that belonged to corps commander B. M. Dumenko and army commander S. M. Budyonny. In addition, visitors will view a collection of letters and documents of B. M. Dumenko, paintings and sketches by the battle painter and contemporary M. B. Grekov. The memorial exhibits are complemented by photographs, documents, written sources, the uniform of a Cossack of the 1st Don Cossack Regiment (Model 1912), and Red Army (RKKA) infantry (Model 1919).
