The exhibition features works by the great Russo-American painter Nikolai Ivanovich Feshin from the collection of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan. The show presents works from the artist's Kazan period drawn from the museum's collection. The jewel of the collection is his portrait gallery and canvases devoted to scenes of everyday life among the peoples of the Kazan Governorate, where ethnic color closely intertwines with the bold experiments of European art at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. On display are well-known works from the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan's collection, such as "Portrait of Varya Adoratskaya", "Self-Portrait", "Dousing" and others.
