Exhibition of works by Baki Urmanche
About exhibition
The work of the outstanding figure of Tatar culture Baki Urmanche is inseparable from the complex, dynamic process of development and formation of Tatar professional visual art. At various stages of this art's development he made his unique contribution. Baki Idrisovich Urmanche is the founder of Tatar professional visual art, an artist of truly wide-ranging talent: painter, graphic artist, sculptor, monumental artist, and theatre designer. He is an artist who made an invaluable contribution to the development of the main branches of visual art in Tatarstan, largely determining the formation of Tatar visual art in the 1920s and its development in the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition reflects all the main stages of the artist's work — from works of the 1920s created in the spirit of free, airy plein-air Impressionism, through the stylistics of academic realism of the 1940s-50s, to a flat decorative manner in his later work.
