Exhibition 'Read It. Pass It On to a Comrade!'
About exhibition
Visitors will learn what changes the Soviet press underwent during the war years, hear about the role of printed publications for the residents of besieged Leningrad, and about the features of youth and children's periodicals, as well as how the press was produced and distributed during the war, and how editorial offices and printing houses operated in the rear and at the front line. The exhibition presents individual issues of magazines from the museum center's collections and from private collections of Noyabrsk residents. These include the magazines Ogonyok, Koster, Khimiya i Oborona (Chemistry and Defense), Krasnoarmeyets, Leningrad, Rabotnitsa (Working Woman), Druzhnye Rebyata, and Krokodil, as well as central and army newspapers such as Pravda, Izvestia, Trud, Krasnaya Zvezda (Red Star), Krasnoarmeyskaya Pravda, and Smena. In addition, visitors will see brochures, postcards, posters, and postal cards. The display also includes items related to the work of war correspondents, among them a typewriter, a chemical pencil, a page from a notebook written by an unknown war correspondent of the Leningrad Front dated 1942, and an officer's map case.
