The exhibition introduces the region's geographical location, its geological past and mineral wealth, the history of research on natural monuments, and the diversity of its animal and plant life. The panel "Evolution and Development of the Biosphere of the Volgograd Region" demonstrates the main stages of life's development, the succession of organic forms and landscapes from the Paleozoic to the Cenozoic. The exhibition presents paleontological finds — fossilized remains and imprints of ancient extinct animals and plants, including unique leaf imprints of fossil flowering plants, bony fishes, and others.
