Exhibition 'Nature of Tomsk Oblast'
About exhibition
Fossils and imprints of sea lilies, trilobites, corals and plants from the Paleozoic era, as well as skeletal remains of Ice Age animals — the mammoth, bison and woolly rhinoceros — are of great interest. The contemporary flora is represented by herbaria, mosses and tree cross-sections. A separate section is devoted to information about the mineral resources of Tomsk Oblast, with a visual display of samples of oil, gas condensate, iron ore, peat, etc. The natural science collection is complemented by numerous taxidermied mammals, birds and fish, various replicas and models, and maps and diagrams. The exhibition will broaden knowledge in school subjects such as local history, history, geography and biology. It is also suitable for students studying history, local history, geography and geology.
