Exhibition 'Nature of the Klin Region'

In studying the nature of this remarkable native region, zoological collections play an important role. The exhibition features present-day inhabitants of the local forests, fields and rivers: brown bear, wolf, fox, lynx, squirrel, wild boar, weasel, muskrat, hedgehog, hare, and various species of resident and migratory birds. Residents of Klin and visitors to the town will learn about who lived here when the territory of present-day Klin and Moscow Oblast was, for millions of years, the bottom of an ancient sea, and will see unique fossilized remains of ancient organisms preserved in the Earth's rock strata: ammonites, belemnites and others. Visitors will also be interested in fragments of remains of Ice Age animals such as the mammoth, bison and woolly rhinoceros.
