Exhibition 'Primates'
About exhibition
At the exhibition, acclaimed animal photographer Alexander Avalov reveals the soul of monkeys! It features more than 40 large-format photographs (over 1 meter in size) taken at the Moscow Zoo. The main protagonists of the 'Primates' exhibition are monkeys that display complex behavior and a rich palette of emotions: the lowland gorilla, orangutan, mandrill, spider monkey, colobus and others. The images capture the full spectrum of primate experience — from touching serenity and boundless maternal care to piercing pensiveness, humor and formidable strength. Each work by Alexander Avalov is a vivid portrait that reveals the unique character and personality of the animal. The wildlife photographer knows how to find an individual approach to each "model" and emphasize its individuality, spending hours, days, weeks and even months frozen in a single pose with a film camera — in search of that very shot.
