Exhibition dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Mstislav Rostropovich
About exhibition
For the first time since the opening of the Rostropovich Family House-Museum, an exhibition dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the great musician will be on display. Guests and city residents will have a unique opportunity to see the restored interiors of the house and view displays devoted to the Lontkevich family — the house's founder — Sofya Fedotova — Mstislav Rostropovich's mother — and the evacuation room where the musical Rostropovich family lived. In the preserved outbuildings the legendary workshop where Slava made his famous koptilki will be recreated. A key event of the exhibition will be the premiere of the film 'The Great Rostropovich Through the Eyes of Contemporaries: Small Homeland', which was produced over two years. Its protagonists are well-known Orenburg residents — T. V. Sudorgina, O. S. Serebriyskaya, Yu. M. Meshcheryakov, L. A. Marchenko, I. V. Makarova, Yu. A. Rysukhin, N. P. Teleshevsky — whose memories of the maestro form the basis of the film.
