The exhibition shows how the art of the patriotic poster evolved in the country, how artists — combining international trends and native traditions — introduced the heroes of the past, and which themes were relevant over time and with shifts in the political course. The show features 19th–20th-century posters and engravings with portraits of Princes Alexander Nevsky, Dmitry Donskoy and Dmitry Pozharsky; Field Marshal Suvorov and Admiral Ushakov; and famous military commanders of the past: Kutuzov, Brusilov, Chapaev, Zhukov…
