On October 14, Russia celebrates the Orthodox feast of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos (Pokrov). On this day the exhibition hall of the Orenburg College of Arts opens a traditional exhibition of items dedicated to the traditional crafts of the Orenburg region. And it’s not only the delicate down shawls. The exhibition features more than sixty exhibits: original down shawls made according to all the rules and canons of down knitting; paintings and graphic works devoted to the folk craft; as well as souvenirs, designer bags, ceramic and textile items incorporating elements of down-lace weaving. The authors of the exhibits are college students studying in the departments of decorative and applied arts and folk crafts, design, and painting. A photo zone is also arranged where you can take beautiful photos with the artisans’ works. The exhibition runs until November 20, 2025.
