Portraits of the honorary citizens of Shelekhov, whose names are recorded in the city's annals, are on display. Visitors can learn about the biographies and destinies of these respected people, who were the first to be awarded this high title and for what achievements. The title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Shelekhov" was established on September 22, 1967 by a decision of the Executive Committee of the Council of People's Deputies, and is awarded in recognition of the merits of Shelekhov residents to the urban community for outstanding achievements and professional excellence in various fields of activity, and for a significant contribution to the development and prosperity of the city. Forty people have been awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Shelekhov".
