Exhibition 'Intersection of Three Worlds'
About exhibition
Thanks to the national project 'Culture', an upgraded exhibition on the ethnography and culture of the indigenous people of Yamal, 'Intersection of Three Worlds', has opened. The main idea is a tripartite conception of the World among the indigenous peoples of the Lower Priobye, centered on the World Tree. This tree, as the 'axis of the world', divides the exhibition into conventional sections: the upper, middle and lower. The upper and lower worlds are the dwellings of gods, spirits and mythical beings, and between them lies the middle material world where northern people live. 'Intersection of Three Worlds' continues to reflect the way of life of the northern indigenous peoples (Nenets, Selkups, Khanty) living in the Lower Priobye. The collection has been enriched with items that had not been displayed before. The exhibition has been supplemented with objects from the MVK archaeological collection: clothing, means of transport, elements of musical culture, children's toys, and religious and cosmogonic items.
