The exhibition is open as part of the Russia–China Cross Years of Culture 2024–2025, on the eve of the main state holiday of our partners — the National Day of the People's Republic of China. The exhibition project is implemented under a partnership agreement between the Pskov Museum-Reserve and the Chinese company "Yashen" for the development of culture and art (Beijing, PRC) with the support of the Nanning City Museum (Guangxi Province). The exhibition features works by well-known contemporary Chinese artists Huang Huazhao and Qi Wangli, created in 2025 during an international plein air painting session on Pskov soil organized by the Art Residence "Keby" (founder — Russian sculptor and restorer A. M. Martyanov) and subsequently in China. Pskov landscapes, executed both in the traditional Chinese artistic manner and in a unique authorial style developed on the basis of classical techniques of Chinese painting, present the image of Pskov — an ancient outpost in the west of our country — as seen by the heirs of the millennia-old civilization of the East. The exhibition presents more than sixty works. It is complemented by a selection of objects and documentary materials from the collections of the Pskov Museum and the State Archive of the Pskov Region, which reveal the history of relations between Pskov and the PRC over the past century.
