Exhibition 'Paleochronicle of Prikamye'

The exhibition presents the paleontological and geological and mineralogical collection of the Krasnokamsk Local History Museum, which has been assembled over more than fifty years. Here you can see real mammoth and woolly rhinoceros bones, imprints of ancient inhabitants of the Perm Sea, and living relict plants that have survived to the present day. Samples of soils, oil, and sulfurous waters will help to understand the composition of Krasnokamsk's soil. The exhibition also displays objects found in archaeological expeditions – ancient pottery, tools used by Paleolithic people, net sinkers, and stone knives. The guide's narration is complemented by workshops in paleo-painting and sessions with microscopes and binoculars, which will allow museum visitors to imagine how archaeologists and paleontologists work. The exhibition was prepared in cooperation with leading specialists from the Geological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and will be of interest not only to schoolchildren and students of Krasnokamsk, but to all residents of Perm Krai.
