Exhibition "Palaty"
About exhibition
On the museum's first floor is the Children's Museum Center. It recreates the look of the main street of provincial Vladimir — façades of recognizable buildings and shop windows with authentic items. There are many surprises that children will enjoy. You can peek through the windows and study the lives of the townspeople. Children will find the interactive displays especially interesting. The exhibition "Provincial Art of the 18th – First Half of the 19th Century" presents more than 120 works. These are provincial portraits, historical figures and unknown faces — vivid witnesses of the era. The exhibition "Russian Art. 20th Century" demonstrates the main stages in the development of Russian art, from 1917 to the present day. It includes examples of agitprop and mass art (K. Redko, V. Lebedev), canvases by Silver Age artists (K. Korovin, P. Konchalovsky), works by avant-gardists R. Falk and A. Deineka, and others. A special section is devoted to the Vladimir school of painting and its outstanding representatives (K. Britov, V. Yukin, V. Kokurin, etc.).
