Exhibition "Reflections"
About exhibition
A joint exhibition project of the Volgograd Museum of Fine Arts named after I. I. Mashkov and the Be Art drawing school will present paintings by graduates of the I. E. Repin Academy of Arts — the young St. Petersburg artists K. Istomina, A. Dobrynin, I. Zorkin and V. Privalikhina. The exhibition of more than 100 works showcases the art of these like-minded artists — two creative family pairs. Their starting point for painterly exploration is the Russian school of painting at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries, with its strict demands for mastery of oil painting technique, an understanding of the fundamentals of academic drawing, and a focus on the substantive and aesthetic issues of works of art. The works of A. Dobrynin and I. Zorkin depict touching scenes of quiet family life. The women's portraits are rendered with attention to lighting effects and the expressive use of color. The intimate still lifes by K. Istomina and V. Privalikhina portray a fragile world of delicate flowers and fresh berries, and objects of transparent glass. For information call: +7 (8442) 24-16-79.
