Exhibition 'From Galosh to Art'
About exhibition
The exhibition is dedicated to the activities and products of the town-forming factory 'Krasny Bogatyr', founded in 1887 in the village of Bogorodskoye, as well as to the close relationship between industry and the new art that emerged in the first half of the 20th century. On display are galoshes and rubber boots from the second half of the 20th century produced by 'Krasny Bogatyr', information from guided-tour programs for factory visitors, a diagram of the galosh production process, and material sources — fragments of the building. The factory's products were in incredible demand across the country and became an inspiration for major Russian cultural figures. The exhibition is complemented by playful, melancholic, and advertising poetry dedicated to galoshes, as well as by graphics from avant-garde artists who reworked rubber-industry products.
