Exhibition "Weapons of Victory"
About exhibition
This open-air exhibit was opened at the museum in 1990 thanks to the last Marshal of the Soviet Union, Dmitry Yazov. It displays combat equipment from the Great Patriotic War: tanks, self-propelled guns, the Soviet BM-13 multiple rocket launcher (better known by the popular nickname "Katyusha"), artillery pieces, the famous "sorokopyatka" — the 45 mm anti-tank gun model 1942 — and the ISU-100 and ISU-152 self-propelled artillery mounts. Visitors can also see the renowned medium tank T-34, which is considered the best Soviet tank of the Great Patriotic War. Over its entire period, around 7,000 of these combat vehicles were sent to the front.
