Exhibition «Weapons of Victory»
About exhibition
This open-air display was established at the museum in 1990 thanks to the last Marshal of the Soviet Union, Dmitry Yazov. It features combat equipment from the Great Patriotic War (World War II): tanks, self-propelled guns, the Soviet BM-13 multiple rocket launcher (best known by the popular nickname “Katyusha”), artillery pieces, the famous “sorokopyatka” — the 45 mm anti-tank gun model of 1942 — and the self-propelled artillery mounts ISU-100 and ISU-152. Visitors can also see the famous medium tank T-34, widely regarded as the best Soviet tank of the Great Patriotic War. Over its production run, about 7,000 of these combat vehicles were sent to the front.
