Exhibition 'Windows of Time'

The exhibition reflects the history of Divnogorsk through works by Divnogorsk and Krasnoyarsk artists. The stages of the town's long journey are traced in the 'windows of time' — a figurative visual concept. The hall features four window-sections: the Beginning, the City's Construction, the Hydroelectric Power Station with Notable Figures, and the City Today. Banners with photographic records of the corresponding periods are displayed on the windows. In the 'Beginning' section there are landscapes devoted to the Znamensky hermitage. Liturgical objects, icons, and elements of clerical vestments were provided by the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God 'The Sign' (Abalakskaya) of Divnogorsk. The 'Construction' section is devoted to the feat of the brave builders of the Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Station and of Divnogorsk. The artists became chroniclers of the process, poets of Siberian nature, the mighty Yenisei, and of human labor. A significant part of the museum's holdings on this theme consists of works by E. A. Shepelevich. The people's labor feat is reflected in the 'Personalities' section. Painted, graphic, and sculptural portraits captured people who made a significant contribution to the construction of the HPP and the city. The display also includes a bust of the classic of Russian literature V. P. Astafyev, created by Krasnoyarsk sculptor Y. P. Ishkhanov, and a copy of the Book of Honorary Citizens of Divnogorsk. The exhibition is complemented by decorative and applied arts items featuring recognizable places in Divnogorsk and by printed materials.
