Exhibition "Inhabitants of Ancient Seas"
About exhibition
Life on the planet originated in water about 3.5 billion years ago. These were single-celled cyanobacteria that began producing oxygen. For many millions of years life developed slowly and only in the water; the land remained lifeless. This continued until an event known as the Cambrian explosion. The Cambrian explosion is a moment in the planet's history when complex shelled organisms began to appear. Visitors to the exhibition will see fossilized remains of marine fauna, learn about the diversity of ancient organisms: brachiopods, crinoids (sea lilies), mollusks, corals and other marine inhabitants, and find out what Kuzbass was like during the Cambrian period.
