Exhibition "Nizhny Novgorod in Pushkin's Time"
About exhibition
The exhibition brings together rare images of Nizhny Novgorod and cartographic items — genuine examples of printed graphic art from the collection of Vyacheslav Khurtin (founder and director of the Nizhny Novgorod Technical Museum). Visitors will have the opportunity to form a coherent picture of what the city looked like in Pushkin's era, before the advent of photography. You will see lithographs by the Nizhny Novgorod self-taught artist Bystritsky, depictions of Nizhny Novgorod churches by the French artist Durand, and printed graphics showing views of the Fair. In addition, the exhibition features authentic 19th-century household items.
