Exhibition of Nina Ageeva
About exhibition
The Tenishev Cultural and Exhibition Center invites residents of Smolensk and visitors to the city to the exhibition "Creativity" by Nina Ageeva. Nina Ippolitovna, born in Moscow in 1932, moved to Smolensk in 1960 after graduating from the Moscow Pedagogical Institute. She became one of the founders of the Fine and Graphic Arts Department at Smolensk State University and actively contributed to its development. Until 1969 she taught graphic art, after which she devoted herself entirely to her art and to teaching. Her works were first shown in 1962, and in 1967 she became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. During her career the artist participated in exhibitions in Moscow, Łódź, Hagen and held nine solo exhibitions in Smolensk and the surrounding region. In 2004 she was awarded the title "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation." Nina Ageeva's painting is distinguished by flexibility and a wealth of expressive means: the artist seeks new forms for each subject, creating vivid works. The exhibition features more than 60 works — landscapes, portraits and still lifes, filled with lively psychological insight and rich color.
