Exhibition 'No Exposure'
About exhibition
'From this day painting is dead!' the public exclaimed about 180 years ago, during the presentation of a new type of image — photography. The public was mistaken: these art forms went on to exist and develop along their own paths, spawning ever-new forms, images, and methods. The history of photography is not only the history of technology but also a transformation of people's relationship to the present moment of life, to the memory of their family and to their own life, reflected in a sequence of photographs. The exhibition, located in the coziest of the museum's halls, includes a collection of photographic equipment from the Novosibirsk Museum's storage, illustrating the development of photographic equipment from the 1920s to the 1990s.
