Exhibition “Nerchinsk Residents on the Fronts of the Great Patriotic War”

This permanent exhibition is dedicated to the participation of natives of Nerchinsk and the Nerchinsk District on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Chronologically it covers the period from the 1939 events on the Khalkhin‑Gol River to Japan’s capitulation in the autumn of 1945. The display includes photographs, documents, personal belongings of Red Army soldiers, as well as weapons. A special section is devoted to military archaeology and the Memory Watch initiative; it features items found during excavations by the Iskatel detachment in Novgorod Oblast and in Mongolia.
