Exhibition "The Unknown Kurnakov"
About exhibition
Visitors will be presented with two works by People's Artist of the USSR Andrei Ilyich Kurnakov (1916–2010) from the private collection of the family of Ivan Yakovlevich Mosyakin. Kurnakov and Mosyakin often met, discussing not only professional but also personal matters. Ivan Yakovlevich would visit Andrei Ilyich's studio, admiring his works, talent, and determination. They both devoted themselves to serving the Motherland, their native Oryol region, and its people. Kurnakov as an artist, and Mosyakin as a respected statesman — an honorary citizen of Oryol Oblast, Deputy Governor of Oryol Oblast, Chairman of the Oryol Regional Council of People's Deputies, and a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The exhibition is located in the studio exposition, in the living-room space where the two friends spent much time. Visitors will have the opportunity to see works by the artist previously unknown to the museum audience.
