Exhibition 'Forever in Memory'
About exhibition
Visitors can see historical relics: a vintage radio set, a 1940s camera, a gramophone, children's toys, photographs and documents. The museum halls display uniforms of soldiers from various branches of the Soviet Army — scouts, ski troops, tankers, pilots, sappers — as well as the personal belongings and awards of Omsk residents who participated in the Great Patriotic War. Visitors will also see products from Omsk factories made for the front and items reflecting everyday life during wartime. The exhibition shows the work of local evacuation hospitals and the surgical instruments used to operate on wounded soldiers during the war. A large section is dedicated to besieged Leningrad, where the Omsk 364th Rifle Division fought. The exhibition concludes with the Victory Hall, which displays items relating to the Victory Parade on Red Square and a wax figure of Marshal G.K. Zhukov; nearby are the orders and medals of Soviet soldiers.
