Exhibition 'Folk Arts and Crafts of Russia'

The exhibition presents over 100 works by leading domestic centers, masters and artists of Russian folk crafts from the 20th–21st centuries, from the collection of the National Gallery of the Komi Republic. The works entered the museum as donations over the years via the Soviet Culture Fund of the USSR, the State Museum and Exhibition Center 'Rosizopropaganda' of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and were also purchased directly from the artists or private individuals. Among the exhibits are lacquer miniatures from Palekh, Kholuy, Mstyora and Fedoskino; decorative lacquerware from Zhostovo and Nizhny Tagil; Gzhel and Skopin ceramics; Khokhloma painting; clay toys from Filimonovo, Kargopol, Abashevo and Vyatka; and Vologda lace. The exhibition offers an opportunity to broaden one's understanding of this section of the gallery's collection and to see genuine masterpieces by Russian folk craftsmen.
