Exhibition 'A Lad in a Kaftan, a Maiden in a Sarafan'

The exhibition is dedicated to traditional Russian folk costume. It allows a deeper understanding of the important role costume played in people's lives. Visitors will see an archaic peasant costume that preserved its uniqueness for a long time. It illustrates only a small part of folk clothing but gives an idea of its variety and beauty. The exhibition presents peasant garments from the Mozhaysky and Vereysky uyezds of the Moscow Governorate at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. Exhibits from the Naro-Fominsk Historical and Local History Museum will underscore the commonality and interconnection of clothing elements across our lands.
