Exhibition "Bear in a Book"
About exhibition
The bear is first and foremost associated with a literary character, which is why the exhibition was named "Bear in a Book." Its creators wanted to tell about the role of the bear in the mythology and life of the indigenous minority peoples of Sakhalin Island, and about the bear as the central hero of Russian folk tales. The exhibition offers visitors an engaging journey into the world of literature, where the beloved character — the bear — takes center stage. This exhibition is a collection of illustrations, books, toys and various objects related to bears that have become protagonists of numerous fairy tales, stories and poems. The display includes items with extraordinary histories. Large and tiny bears have been brought from different corners of the globe, made from various materials, and some are one-of-a-kind. Some were presented by notable people, among them the first governor of Sakhalin Oblast, Valentin Fedorov, and People's Artist of the Russian Federation and Golden Mask award-winner Klara Kisenkova, among others.
