Exhibition "World of Polymers"
About exhibition
By studying chemistry, people gain the ability to see the world from the inside. Modern humans cannot exist without the achievements of chemistry. In the "History of Nizhnekamsk" hall artifacts, rare documents and a chronicle of events are presented. Touchscreens with a timeline tell the story of the founding of the chemical plant and the city, about the first builders and the general director N. V. Lemaev, and about the first samples of petrochemical products. In the "Hydrocarbon Chemistry" section visitors can learn about the work of outstanding Russian scientists D. I. Mendeleev, A. M. Butlerov and B. V. Byzova, and can assemble isomers using a construction kit. The "Polymers" hall is designed as a laboratory with engaging interactive zones — "Anatomy of the Plant", "Sounds of the Plant", "Kaleidoscope of Materials", "Mirror Cube" — which introduce the properties of polymers and their role in modern life.
