Mikula Exhibition

About exhibition

At the “Mikula” Museum there are three temporary exhibition halls (throughout the year the museum hosts festivals of decorative and applied arts, exhibitions of contemporary art and Nizhny Novgorod artists, and much more) and permanent exhibition halls: The hall “From the Great Motherland to the Small Motherland” tells about history and peasant life, the history of the Moskovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, its origin and the industrialization of Gorky. The hall “A Soldier Does Not Choose the War” tells about life in the Moskovsky District of Gorky during the Great Patriotic War, about the war heroes who left for the front from the district, and about the feats of the home front. The hall “Wooden Tales of the Nizhny Novgorod Volga Region” features works by wood artists who participated in the “Secrets of Wood” festivals held at the museum for 25 years, as well as unique works by V.I. Bakhmatov donated to the museum by his widow – wood carving, birch-bark inlay, and metal embossing.
