Exhibition "Memorial over the Volga"
About exhibition
The exhibition presents unique photographs from the Lenin Memorial's archives, illustrating the history of the complex — from the initial concept and construction to the present day. The painstaking work of designers and architects Boris Mezentsev, Harold Isakovich and Mikhail Konstantinov, and of Komsomol construction brigades who took part in Ulyanovsk residents' volunteer workdays (subbotniks), resulted in the creation of a building that has been a city landmark for half a century. The construction of the Lenin Memorial became an important milestone in the city's history: visitors can see how it has changed on the eve of the 100th anniversary of V. I. Lenin's birth.
