Exhibition 'Medics of Eastern Siberia: Aid to the Front'
About exhibition
On the 80th anniversary of Victory, the Irkutsk Regional Museum of Local Lore has prepared a large-scale exhibition dedicated to the heroism of doctors and medical personnel during the war. The exhibition features items from the museum's collections, partner organizations and private collections — more than 300 objects, photographs and documents in total, including an almost complete collection of authentic military medics' uniforms from the Great Patriotic War (World War II). The objects tell the story of events that took place both at the front and on the home front. Visitors can view the collection of medical instruments of V. I. Strelov; see maps and archival materials reflecting the daily life of evacuation hospitals in the Irkutsk region; learn about the activities of the region's medical, educational and scientific institutions during the war; examine medical equipment used both in the rear and at the front; and view a collection of military medics' uniforms, their awards and insignia.
