Exhibition 'Dreams and Reality'
About exhibition
The painting exhibition 'Dreams and Reality' opens the 'Space in Art' series of the museum project 'Opening the Collections'. The 'Earth–Space' Museum has assembled a collection of paintings notable for their subject matter and artistic execution, numbering over 100 works and covering a century-long history of cosmism in painting, from the 1950s to the present day. The exhibition 'Dreams and Reality' will showcase works created in the styles of cosmic realism, science fiction, philosophical cosmism and surrealism. Among the authors of the paintings are A.K. Sokolov, local artists, and participants of the first international creative project held as part of the Year of Cosmonautics in Russia. Four countries joined this project — Russia, India, Bangladesh and Bulgaria. Young people aged 5 to 18 from different countries sent their truly cosmic works to Volgograd artist Alena Vasiltsova. The exhibition has now been transferred to the 'Earth–Space' Regional Museum. A highlight of the exhibition will be an artist master class. Visitors will also be able to operate a lunar rover at the 'Educational Robotics' workshop.
