Exhibition 'Magistral'
About exhibition
In 2025 it will be 50 years since the arrival of the first train in Surgut, the opening of the railway bridge across the Ob River, and the city's first railway station. The exhibition tells the story of the stages of the railway's construction and the first decades of the Surgut Railway Division's operation. The display features more than 80 unique museum items, as well as photographs and documents from the collections of the Surgut Local History Museum illustrating the construction of the northern railway line Tyumen–Surgut, which took place from 1966 to 1975. At the exhibition you can learn interesting facts about who was the driver of the first train to arrive in Surgut, how Surgut residents greeted the first train, and what the first railway station was like.
