Exhibition "Love for Painting"
About exhibition
The new exhibition at the art gallery tells the remarkable story of a group of amateur artists from the 'Thaw' era. Visitors will learn how the Communist Party cultivated the 'harmoniously developed person' who worked at the machine by day and created painted canvases by night. The exhibition also explains how workers learned to paint, how paintings from Krasnokamsk were sent to VDNKh, and how the artists befriended Marshal of the Soviet Union F.I. Golikov and a large collective farm. A special section of the exhibition is devoted to the tastes and interests of Krasnokamsk's sixtiers: the music, books, magazines, and films that influenced their worldview, life, and creative work. The exhibition features works by Krasnokamsk amateur artists from different years: portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and compositions executed in various techniques — from pastel to oil painting and linocut. Among the studio members' works you can see early pieces by artists known in the Prikamye region who once studied at the Krasnokamsk studio — illustrator Arkady Amirkhanov and painter Stanislav Girko.
