Exhibition 'Patchwork Stories' at the House of the Commercial Assembly
About exhibition
Exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the folk amateur collective 'Lyapachok' Patchwork Sewing Club. The club was founded in 2000 at the initiative of People's Master of Russia Galina Polyakova, who remains its leader to this day. Club members, meeting together, create collective works in the patchwork style, carefully preserving traditional northern culture. In 2014 'Lyapachok' was awarded the title 'People's Amateur Collective'. The club actively participates in fairs, festivals and competitions at various levels. Works by its members have repeatedly been exhibited in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ivanovo, as well as at All-Russian folk art exhibitions in Nizhny Novgorod, Vologda, Petrozavodsk, Murmansk and Syktyvkar. The exhibition presents individual and collective creative works by Lyapachok craftswomen from recent years: patchwork rugs, quilts, panels, decorative interior items and accessories. The items are made using various techniques of traditional and contemporary patchwork sewing. For inquiries: +7 (8182) 20-41-64.
