Exhibition "Slender Fingers Fly Across the Keys"
About exhibition
The exhibition project is dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of musician and teacher Evlampiya Mikhailovna Savelova-Sozentovich, who carried out concert and teaching activities in Simbirsk from 1910 to 1923. Evlampiya Mikhailovna Savelova-Sozentovich is a name that may not be widely known to the public, yet her contribution to the development of musical education and the performing arts is difficult to overestimate. A graduate of the St. Petersburg Conservatory and a pupil of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, A. K. Lyadov and A. N. Yesipova, she devoted a significant part of her life to nurturing a whole generation of talented musicians. She was noted for her individual approach to each student, striving to develop not only technical skills but also musical taste, artistry and a love of the arts. As a pianist she was distinguished by refined taste and virtuosity, bringing special emotionality and sincerity to every performance. The exhibition displays authentic items from the collection of the Museum-Reserve "Birthplace of V. I. Lenin": photographs of Evlampiya Mikhailovna from various years, documents attesting to her fruitful concert and teaching activities, concert posters, honorary certificates and letters. Of particular value are her personal belongings and the priceless recollections of Ivan Vasilievich Dmitriev, a talented artist and musician, which recount details about the life and work of his teacher Evlampiya Mikhailovna Savelova-Sozentovich and the period of her stay in Simbirsk.
