'Lad' Exhibition
About exhibition
The 'Lad' natural-ethnographic exhibition is the museum's second permanent display. Through its exhibits it presents the everyday life, customs and culture of the Russian peasant family as one of the primary sources for the formation of the unique phenomenon known as the mining-and-factory culture. The exhibition is presented in the form of an open house; its interior furnishings closely recreate the layout of peasant homes from the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. Through the exhibits visitors learn how their ancestors lived and worked more than 100 years ago.
